Resources - Data
It is our intention to collect information about benchmark data that can be used to compare pattern recognition methods on relevant remote sensing tasks. The following list contains items listing task, comment, and source web site.
- Exciting new data available at IEEE-GRS: Geosience and Remote Sensing Society of IEEE issued a new data set giving images of high temporal resolution (i.e. video frame-rate) from space. Again there is the idea of fusion behind it, in this case with standard satellite products (multispectral and high-resolution pan-chromatic). See http://www.grss-ieee.org/community/technical-committees/data-fusion/data-fusion-contest/ . Note also: The 2015 IEEE-GRS fusion data - comprising color and LIDAR - are still available under http://www.grss-ieee.org/2015-ieee-grss-data-fusion-contest/ .
- Semantic Labeling Benschmark in 2D and 3D: The ISPRS working group III/4 "3D scene analysis" released two new benchmarks: The new 2D dataset has 5cm resolution orthophotos and height model of part of Potsdam/Germany. Groundtruth (6 classes) is partially provided for competition in ISPRS. Link: http://www2.isprs.org/commissions/comm3/wg4/2d-sem-label-potsdam.html The new 3D dataset delivers LIDAR data of Vaihingen/Germany again with partial Groundtruth (9 classes). - Semantic Labeling Benchmark: The ISPRS working group III/4 has released a 2D
semantic labeling benchmark. 33 true ortho image and DSM tiles of very high resolution and
quality are provided, and in addition classification labels for 16 of
those tiles are given as training set. Participants are encouraged to deliver their classification for the
remaining 17 tiles. http://www2.isprs.org/semantic-labeling.html

Segmentation Data-generator and Benchmark. Synthetic texture images are generated with groundtruth segmentation. This is possible, e.g. also from ALI hyperspectral satellite images, http://mosaic.utia.cas.cz, contact Michal Haindl, haindl(at)utia.cas.cz
Aerial Camera Evaluation also useful for Building Recognition, Aerial images of Vaihingen (Germany) plus groundtruth Laser-scans, DGPF, http://www.dgpf.de/neu/WWW-Projekt-Seite/DKEP-Dat.html, contact Manfred Wiggenhagen, wiggenhagen(at)ipi.uni-hannover.de
